  • Global Dance Music Industry Valued At $6.2 Billion According To New Study

    The dance music industry has seen an unprecedented era of growth over the past few years globally, but more specifically in North America. According to a new study by Danceonomics presented at the recent IMS Conference in Los Angeles, the global market can be valued at $6.2 billion, while the North American market swelled to 30 percent of that at $1.9 billion. The study took into account revenue drawn from music sales and streams, festival and club income and other DJ-centric sources including like Soundcloud and DJ technology.

    We have bad news for Coachella attendees who were hoping to see Ryan Raddon, better known as Kaskade, up close and personal this weekend. It was announced yesterday that the "Never Sleep Alone" DJ was going to play a "surprise" Redux set at the Do Lab stage, which is known for its smaller setup and more relaxed vibe. Hours after the announcement and seeing the amount of hype that the surrounded the news, Do Lab decided to cancel Kaskade's set over fears that the stage would not be able to handle the influx of people.

    Above & Beyond have announced the location of their upcoming ABGT150 celebration. The electronic music trio will be performing at Sydney's Allphones Arena on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Olympic stadium will host the group's first ever Southern Hemisphere Group Therapy celebration.   • Lil Wayne Reportedly Being Sued by Ex-Bus Driver for Assault, Emotional Distress

    Now the shoe is on the other foot. According to a new report by the (New York) Daily News, Lil Wayne is being sued by his ex-bus driver for assault and emotional distress after making threats toward the man on the road. The "Start a Fire" rapper is accused of becoming angry and pulling a gun on his tour bus driver last August after stopping the vehicle to fill up on gas after a concert near Buffalo. Lil Wayne is currently embroiled in a protracted and nasty lawsuit with his parent label Cash Money Records, which will make this lawsuit more difficult to deal with.

Ali, Quez and Strap put together 15 songs largely devoid of features, except for three including the aforementioned two from Bankroll Fresh and Cap1, plus two others from Spodee and Skooly.
