    As previously reported, the Ferguson, Missouri police department identified Darren Wilson as the officer who shot Michael Brown, whose death ignited violent protests and chaos in the St. Louis suburb over the past week. This is one step in the full investigation that will hopefully lead to some answers and peace. In the wake of this tragedy, many rappers and musicians have voiced their condolences for Brown's family, their outrage at the situation, their desire for answers and prayers for peace.   • HBO enlists Common, Big Boi, Wale, Daddy Yankee and more for official 'Game of Thrones' mixtape

    HBO has an interesting marketing strategy to increase the viewer reach of Game of Thrones. According to The Wall Street Journal, they've hired 10 hip-hop and Latin-music artists to rap about the series on a 10-song mixtape dubbed Catch The Throne. Among those they've enlisted are Wale, Big Boi, Daddy Yankee, Common and Bodega Bamz. The project will feature the artists rapping and singing about sword fights, fire-breathing dragons and more over beats made from samples from the show. It will be released for free online March 7.

    It appears that Andre Benjamin (Andre 3000) and Antwan Patton (Big Boi) just might reunite as the Grammy-winning duo Outkast in the coming future, according to Billboard. Outkast has unfortunately been on hiatus since 2007, which left people wondering what happened, but they could come together for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

    It's anniversaries galore during 2013-'14 for Outkast, the most renowned name to come out of the Atlanta hip-hop scene. It will be 20 years since the duo, consisting of Andre 3000 and Big Boi, released its debut Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik in 1994. September 29 marked 15 years since the pair dropped Aquemini (an excellent album Music Times listened to on Monday) , and September 23 was the tenth anniversary of Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Sleepy Brown, while discussing his own upcoming new album, suggested during an interview that 'Dre and Boi may be planning new music to celebrate the anniversary of its debut.
