Amy Adams held her ground with NBC executives yesterday and it cost her a promotional interview on "Today." The show wanted to get her opinion on one of the hottest topics out there now — the hacking of Sony — and apparently Adams refused to comment publicly. Her name has been mentioned in some of the leaked emails that prove she and Jennifer Lawrence were paid considerably less than their male costars in "American Hustle." It was a topic Adams refused to touch, so "Today" decided to cancel her interview on the spot in spite of her being there to actually promote her new film "Big Eyes."What actually transpired in the green room depends on who you ask. Adams's team insists she carried herself with grace while NBC insiders are saying things got heated and her attitude did not win her any fans. According to "Us Weekly," it was just business as usual for the morning show. -
The FBI Officially Accuses North Korea of Successfully Hacking Sony
Earlier this week the news broke that the FBI was reportedly linking North Korea to the high level hacking of Sony and this morning the government agency issued a full statement that officially points the finger at that country's government. Even while under the sharpest of microscopes, the hackers who refer to themselves as Guardians of Peace, again reached out to Sony officials, sending another email overnight that made it clear that they weren't the least bit intimidated even if their identity has been outed. -
Sierra Leone Cancels Public Christmas and New Year's Celebrations to Curtail the Ebola Virus
Only about 10 percent of all people who are living in Sierra Leone are Christians who will be celebrating this holiday season, but the government has already put necessary restrictions on the festivities due to the continuing Ebola outbreak. Sierra Leone is now the hardest-hit country, surpassing the illness and death that even Liberia has seen, and its leaders are scrambling to find ways to keep Ebola from spreading. That has led them to determine that public Christmas and New Year's celebrations are now banned.People are now forbidden from gathering in groups to celebrate as they normally would. Military personnel will once again take to the streets to make sure that groups of revelers are not gathering together, which would basically intensify the risk of spreading the virus to each other. This is just one more way the everyday lives of the people of West Africa have been disrupted by this epidemic. As of Dec. 10, Sierra Leone had recorded 8,000 cases of Ebola and nearly 1,900 deaths. In West Africa as a whole, more than 18,000 people have been infected, resulting in more than 6,500 deaths. Those numbers are pretty harrowing, but the truth is many at the World Health Organization feared they would be far higher by now. -
'Honey Boo Boo' Biological Father Mike Thompson Is Now Living with June Shannon Again
Just when it seemed like "Mama" June Shannon's life could not get anymore complicated, it has. In case you somehow missed out on all the drama that has played out over the last few months, we ill take a moment to remind you.First it was confirmed that Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson had moved out of the home the couple shared and then we learned that Shannon had reconnected with an old boyfriend, Mark McDaniel, who did time for molesting her oldest daughter. Now it seems that McDaniel is out and Thompson has moved back in to the family home.According to TMZ, the two have confirmed that they are once again living together and taking steps toward repairing things. They have not officially reconciled just yet, but Shannon is reportedly working hard toward regaining Thompson's trust. It was not going to even appear to support the choices Shannon was making, but it made sure the family was paid and offered counseling to the kids. -
NBC Puts the Brakes on New Bill Cosby Comedy Series After Netflix Shelves Special That Was Scheduled to Begin Streaming Next Week
It has been a devastating day for business in the life of comedic legend Bill Cosby. In the last several days he has watched as several old rape claims against him have been met in the media by a new rash of claims from women who have now gone on the record to tell their own alleged personal accounts of suffering at his hands. At first, Cosby's attorney simply denied that his client had done anything wrong and then insisted these old claims were baseless. But by late last night things shifted when the self-proclaimed world's first supermodel, Janice Dickinson, said Cosby had raped her back in 1982. Cosby's attorney came out swinging, but it was too late to save two new projects he has been working on.First, Netflix announced that it is shelving a special show Cosby had already filmed for it. It was scheduled to begin streaming next week and it is now on hold. If Cosby somehow pulls out of this scandal with his career at all intact, then there is a chance Netflix will show his special. Unfortunately, that is not going to be the case for Cosby's other deal.NBC was working on a new Cosby project that would have been executive produced by "The Cosby Show's" Tom Werner. In it, Cosby was supposed to star as Jonathan Franklin, head of a multigenerational family, who would use his humor and life experience to guide his daughters, sons-in-law and grandkids. It kind of sounded like an updated spin on the formula that worked so well 25 years ago. Unfortunately, it will never see the light of day because NBC has killed it completely. -
TLC Decides to Pay Most of 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' Cast for Final Season That Won't Actually Ever Air
June Shannon really has unraveled her family business in just a few short weeks. It only took TLC a day or two to decide to cancel Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after photos of Shannon cavorting with her convicted sex offender ex, Mark McDaniel surfaced. While she has insisted that the truth will eventually come out and it'll be on her side, things as of now seem to be pretty dismal. One thing that has been pretty amazing is TLC's treatment of the rest of Shannon's family. Sure they packed up their lights and quickly removed all filming equipment from the house but they also have confirmed that the family will still get paid for a season that will now never air. -
'Mama' June Shannon's Rekindled Relationship with Convicted Child Molester Mark McDaniel Has Demolished Her Once Tight-Knit Family
This time last week, "Mama" June Shannon's family was normal and they were all enjoying having completed another season of filming "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." While the show was not as popular as it once was, the ratings were still high enough for everyone to rake in a nice amount of cash. All it took was one photo of Shannon with Mark McDaniel, her former boyfriend, to bring everything crashing down around her. TMZ first caught wind of the fact that McDaniel had just wrapped up serving 10 years for child molestation and within a few short days everything looked a lot different. -
TLC Believes That June Shannon Put Kids At Risk By Seeing Child Molester Ex, Cancels 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'
It didn't take TLC long at all to put distance between themselves and the rumored actions of June Shannon of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Yesterday we told you about a scandalous report that claimed Shannon was secretly seeing her old boyfriend. The problem is that Mark McDaniel was convicted of molesting an 8-year old member of Shannon's family more than ten years ago. He served a decade in prison and was released just last spring. In recent months Shannon has reportedly snuck off to see McDaniel and there are photos to prove it. -
