As promised, Flying Lotus took the time last night during his current residency with BBC Radio 1 to interview his frequent collaborator Kendrick Lamar about his latest album, To Pimp A Butterfly, for which FlyLo produced the opening track "Wesley's Theory," which he called "a future classic" during their conversation. In the interview, Lamar spoke about the ideas and influences that went into making the album a success and gave advice to his fans, urging them "put your heart over a number or a dollar sign." It has since been taken down, but the discussion about the album and its contents has reached a fever pitch. One of the contributing producers, Flying Lotus, whom the pair collaborated with in the past on "Never Catch Me," took the time last night on Twitter to detail his involvement on the album and sing his praises for K.Dot. -
Shabazz Palaces Announce World Tour: 'Lese Majesty' Group Will Make Stops at Bonnaroo and Primavera Sound
Shabazz Palaces is hitting the road in April for a lengthy world tour. The group will make stops at Primavera Sound and Bonnaroo in addition to a few other festival dates. They will join TV on the Radio and Genius for two dates at the beginning of the trek and open for Flying Lotus for a string of shows overseas, 'Pitchfork' noted. The group is touring in support of its 2014 release 'Lese Majesty.' 'Rolling Stone' gave the album a positive review and 'Pitchfork' ranked it 8.2 out of 10. -

Sónar Festival just got a lot bigger with a second batch of artists that have been added to its 2015 lineup. The legendary Barcelona, Spain-based festival has added 32 names to its roster of artists, and it did not skimp on the acts. Sticking to the mission of keeping away from your typical commercial acts, Sónar added names like Jamie xx, Maya Jane Coles, Die Antwoord, Flying Lotus and FKA twigs to the roster. Not afraid to push boundaries, Sónar has tabbed Skrillex as one of its Phase 2 headliners, which caused quite a stir the first time around, but now not many will raise a fuss this time because hating on Skrillex has largely gone out of style. -

It was announced last month that Flying Lotus would join BBC Radio One as a resident in 2015, adding to a cast that includes, Skream, Jon Hopkins, Kaytranada, Solomun and others. He took to the BBC airwaves for the first time on Jan. 15 and put together a vintage FlyLo mix with tracks from all across the music spectrum including some unreleased music from himself, Rae Sremmurd, Electric Light Orchestra, Run The Jewels and Thundercat. He does not waste the opportunity to showcase some new music, including an unreleased Thundercat track and a few from himself like an alternative edit of his track with Kendrick Lamar "Never Catch Me." -

Electronic artist Flying Lotus has shared the haunting music video for his song "Coronus, the Terminator," which you can check out below. Directed by Young Replicant, the clip stars Flying Lotus, among other people, as some sort of ghostly figure who witnesses a man's startlingly violent death. It is creepy stuff, but it is also beautiful in the strangest way."Coronus, the Terminator" is the third music video to be shared from Flying Lotus's latest album "You're Dead!," following the videos for "Ready Err Not" and "Never Catch Me" featuring Kendrick Lamar. Calvin Harris Will Have Role In Entourage Movie; Flying Lotus On Soundtrack
The Entourage Movie has spread across the internet like wildfire over the past few days with screenshots from the upcoming trailer that will be released at 11 a.m. PST today (Dec. 23). In addition to the news about the trailer and the screenshot, more details have surfaced about the movie Vincent Chase (Adrien Grenier) is shooting during the Entourage Movie (a movie about a guy making a movie for those you who don't know the premise of Entourage). Calvin Harris posted the film poster online that shows a hooded chase on the cover in a futuristic cityscape, but also reveals that Calvin Harris, the Scottish DJ / producer superstar will be costarring next to Grenier in the film titled Hyde. In another twist, Flying Lotus will be providing the soundtrack to the movie.
