The Digital Downloads Top 10 happens to be both opened and closed by a debut track this week. Leading at no. 1 with the second largest single debut of 2014 is Jessie J and "Bang Bang," which features help from Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. It sold 230,000 downloads, a total only surpassed by Grande's "Problem" for most debut downloads this year. That song, however, fell out of the Top 10 this week. Closing out this week at no. 10 was Maroon 5's "It Was Always You," which sold 95,000 downloads, not at all a bad start. -

Following in the footsteps of Bow Wow Wow, Aaron Carter, Melanie C, and probably a bunch of other artists, British pop singer Charli XCX recently performed a cover of the Strangeloves' 1965 hit "I Want Candy" for Transmitter Live, which you can watch below. Though the "Fancy" singer is known for her electronic, synth-pop sound, her take on "I Want Candy" remains pretty faithful to the guitar-based arrangement of the original version, or rather, Bow Wow Wow's more popular 1982 version. -
