• Chance The Rapper Talks Kanye West, TIDAL, Baltimore At Harvard Lecture

    Universities have been very open to hip-hop acts recently with artists like Lil B and Killer Mike lecturing at some the United States' finest institutes of higher education including MIT and NYU. Last week, Harvard invited Chicago's Chance The Rapper to speak at their Hiphop Archive & Research Institute. Chance touched on a variety of important and relevant topics related to his own music and world around him including Kanye West, the protests in Baltimore and how TIDAL compares to other streaming services.

Cait O'Riordan, VP of product, Music and Platforms at Shazam spoke at the Strata Hadoop World 2015 Conference in London to discuss how the platform predicts a song's success and showed that the next one might Omi's single "Cheerleader."

    Kanye West and Damon Dash have teamed up for a new entrepreneurial venture: film. As previously reported they already worked on the film Loisaidas together, and now they are set to executive produce the film Too Honorable, an action-packed shoot 'em up flick featuring Cam'ron, Styles P, Smoke DZA, Eishia Brightwell, Julito McCullum, Nicholas Turturro, Daniel Jenkins, Michael Rispoli, Smokey Suarez, Oschino Vasquez, and Murda Mook. Dash also acts and directs in the film, and his cousin Stacey Dash (Clueless) also has a featured role. The movie will hit theaters on May 25, although it's unclear whether it will receive a limited or wide release. You check can out the trailer below.

    Vice Media made a big announcement recently regarding its new TV channel. The company is planning to launch a channel through A&E Networks - it will replace the History Channel's H2.     When it comes to Kanye West, always expect the unexpected. The "All Day" rapper announced today that he was changing the title to his highly anticipated upcoming album, 'So Help Me God.' According to a tweet sent out today, Yeezy is changing the name of the LP to 'SWISH.' He did not offer an explanation for the name change, but it could be an acronym for a longer phrase.
