The first full, official trailer for the highly anticipated N.W.A biopic "Straight Outta Compton" dropped recently, and it will have fans begging for more. Dr. Dre and Ice Cube introduce the film as something of a necessity nowadays with all the violence in black communities stemming from distrust of law enforcement. "The same thing that we was going through in the '80s with the police, people going through right now," Cube said as the pair rolled through Compton. "It's a good time for us to tell our story," Dre added. -
Suge Knight Arrested, Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident That Left One Dead and Two Injured
Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight has been arrested and charged with murder following a hit-and-run incident that occurred Thursday (Jan. 29), The Hollywood Reporter notes. Knight allegedly got into an altercation near the site of a promotional shoot for the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton before the homicide happened. According to witnesses, Knight began arguing with two men when he pulled up to the scene in a red pick-up truck. When the fight began to get more serious, Knight reportedly backed into a victim, who died, and hit two others, who suffered non life-threatening injuries. -
REPORT: Suge Knight Allegedly Killed a Man on the Set of a Movie in Compton
Suge Knight, former CEO of Death Row Records, reportedly ran over a man with his car on the set of a movie he was working on in Compton, California. The victim died shortly after Knight fled the scene of the crime. According to TMZ the two men were involved in an argument after Knight was denied access to the set of a film Ice Cube and Dr. Dre were working on, possibly the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, which is listed as being in post-production on IMDb. Knight's lawyer is trying to arrange the CEO's surrender. -

If you were looking forward to that Joni Mitchell/Carole King/Carly Simon biopic "Girls Like Us," then today, Nov. 25, you are out of luck. In an interview with "The Sunday Times," via "NME," Joni Mitchell revealed that she has pulled the plug on the project, citing the casting of Taylor Swift as one of the primary reasons."I squelched that!" Mitchell admitted. "I said to the producer, 'All you've got is a girl with high cheekbones.' It's just a lot of gossip, you don't have the great scenes.""There's a lot of nonsense about me in books," Mitchell went on to say, "assumptions, assumptions, assumptions."The now-halted film was based on the book "Girls Like Us" by Sheila Weller, which followed the rise of Mitchell and her singer-songwriter contemporaries Carly Simon and Carole King during the 1970s. Swift was cast as Mitchell back in 2012, with "Mad Men's" Jessica Pare cast as Simon and "The Newsroom's" Alison Pill cast as King. -
