The pioneering track that ultimately defined the grunge movement of the 90s made it to the head of a list of the top 50 songs compiled by a team of researchers from Goldsmiths at the University of London, headed by computer scientist Dr. Mick Grierson, who is also a musician. -

Grunge legends Nirvana's demo tape for "E-coli" is now available online. Posted anonymously on Reddit, the demo is thought to be a recording from 1993 or 1994. One of the many previously unavailable demos to surface online recently, "E-coli" follows the leak of Fecal Matter's (Kurt Cobain's pre-Nirvana ensemble) thirteen-track demo titled 'Illiteracy Will Prevail' which appeared online only a few weeks ago. -

Nirvana played its first concert ever in March of 1987 and 28 years later, photos of the basement gig have been unearthed by an unlikely source, 19-year-old Maggie Poukkula, the daughter of Seattle musician Tony Poukkula of Laytem. Poukkula grew up with and had a history of jamming alongside Kurt Cobain, hosting the cellar concert in his very own home. -
