    Fifty years ago on this date, The Beatles debuted its new film, Help!, in London and there was a very big name in the crowd at the debut: Queen Elizabeth II. This constituted arguably the greatest gathering of famous British-folk in the last century, while also demonstrating that the monarch was more than happy to take in popular entertainment along with her constituents (a fan site for the Royal Family notes that she has considerably more "lowbrow" taste than her husband, Prince Philip). If you need more proof of the Queen's enjoyment of popular music, here are some more instances from recent (and not so recent) years.

The song, a blues standard, has been covered numerous times over the years—from artists including Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and Willie Nelson—so why is Stewart the one in legal limbo?

It was described as "definitely a panty-dropper" and was expected to be released sometime his summer. After the psychedelic nature of At.Long.Last.A$AP and the collaboration between Rocky and Stewart on "Everyday" with Mark Ronson, this almost seemed plausible. However, the "LSD" rapper took to Twitter today to clear some things up and say that it was all just a joke.

During the talk, he shared a new song called "Everyday," which samples Rod Stewart's "In A Broken Dream" and features vocals from Miguel and production from Mark Ronson. He also confirmed that the album would be dropping June 2.

The folk legend is one of the most influential performers of all time-no. 2 to only The Beatles if you take Rolling Stone's word for it—but that didn't necessarily translate to sales for ol' Zimmy. "The Voice of A Generation" only got to the top of the charts five times in his more than five decade career. That's more than your average performer for sure, but given his longevity and acclaim, we might have expected more. You may be surprised which five were his best-selling upon debut.

The best example is Elvis Presley, specifically his hit "Are You Lonely Tonight?," which according to Billboard generated at least four songs titled "Yes, I'm Lonely Tonight" and one "Oh, How I Miss You Tonight" as "answers" to his question. Odds are these songs were more about profits than untamed hormones, but we love the idea of response tracks.

    Rock legend Rod Stewart is currently in the middle of a residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, but once that concludes in February, he will be shifting all his focus to his new album. In an interview with "Vegas Player," the 69-year-old singer revealed that he has been writing songs for his follow-up to 2013's "Time," and he is more prolific now than he ever was."Believe it or not, I've got 10 tracks ready for the new album. I've got songs coming out of my bum at the moment," Stewart admits jokingly. "I just wish I could have had this 25 or 30 years ago. I was enjoying myself too much then."
