OMI 'Cheerleader' Knocks Wiz Khalifa 'See You Again' from No. 1 on Hot 100
The times, they are a changin'. Today (July 13) marks the first time in its history that Billboard has released its charts on a Monday (following the implementation of a universal Friday release date), and with the new chart date, we have a new No. 1. After weeks of vaulting up the charts, OMI's crossover reggae hit "Cheerleader" has unseated longtime chart topper "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa at the top spot. -

After Jonas joined Swift at her 1989 World Tour stop in East Rutherford, New Jersey, over the weekend, the "Bad Blood" singer got all nostalgic on her Twitter - and we're right there with her. -
Meek Mill and 'DWMTM' Gets Another Week as Billboard 200 Shifts Dates
It's an odd span for Nielsen and the Billboard 200, as the international (and official) album release date shifted from Tuesdays to Fridays last week. The next, regular Billboard 200 report should come next Saturday, however Billboard has tried to transition by running a report in the meantime that adds last weeks totals to the four days in-between official release dates. Music Times is trying to run things a little differently, by noting the Top 10 by actual sales during that period. Meek Mill comes out on top again. -

Country crooner turned pop star Taylor Swift stopped by Metlife Stadium in New Jersey for back to back concerts Friday and Saturday night in which the first '1989' performance saw surprise appearances from the celebrated U.S. Women's National Soccer Team. Taylor Swift Brings Out The Weeknd, U.S. Women's Soccer Team & More in Jersey

For her first show at Giants' Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Taylor had some wild surprises for the crowd of 60,000, bringing out The Weeknd, the U.S. Women's Soccer Team and several more of her famous BFFs. -
Meek Mill Sells 5x as Many Records as Miguel, James Taylor on Albums Chart
Yesterday we showed during our summary of the Billboard 200 that Meek Mill and 'Dreams Worth More Than Money' sold nearly five-times as much as any other new title on the list. The same trend applies to actual album sales, where the album moved actually (not nearly) sold more than 500 percent more copies than the runner-up. The emcee stands a strong chance at joining Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar as the only performers to top the Billboard 200 for more than one week when next week's sales are revealed. -

Why Wiz Khalifa and 'See You Again' Won't Break Hot 100 Hip-Hop Record
Wiz Khalifa (and Charlie Puth) stand on the brink of history, having tied the streak for the longest period for any hip-hop song atop the Billboard Hot 100 with "See You Again," the showcase number from the Furious 7 soundtrack. Unfortunately, the likelihood that they break that record upon the release of next week's numbers. -

Wiz Khalifa 'See You Again' Tops Hot 100: OMI, Silento & Rachel Platten Make Gains
It's not even a "See You Again" for Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth and the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100: it's that they're never leaving. For the 12th nonconsecutive week, the Furious 7 soundtrack single has topped the charts - but new singles from OMI, Jack Ü with Justin Bieber and Rachel Platten are coming up quickly as summer gets hotter. -
Mariah Carey, Madonna and TLC: The Longest Hot 100 Streaks of 1995
TLC celebrated the beginning of its longest streak on the Hot 100 on this date 20 years ago, as "Waterfalls" topped the singles charts for seven weeks afterward. Now, the Hot 100 is different than the Billboard 200 in that it's rare for any one album to top the chart for more than a few weeks, while songs can rack up huge runs on their chart. For example, only two albums have been at no. 1 for more than one week during 2015 (Taylor Swift's 1989 and Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly), while Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" has ruled the Hot 100 for 14 weeks thus far (the other 14 weeks have been split between Swift and Wiz Khalifa). Five songs managed to stay at no. 1 for seven weeks or more during 1995...so at least 35 of the year's 52 weeks were owned by just five songs. Check out the playlist of '95's most popular tracks.
