• Spring Awakening 2015 Live Stream: Festival Announces Twitch Partnership

    Summer means good weather and a new festival every weekend. Chicago's Spring Awakening is preparing to open its doors in just over 24 hours and it has announced something special for those not in town or unable to score tickets. SAMF has partnered with T-Mobile and Twitch to host a festival live stream on the video streaming service. The three days will be aired on Twitch starting at 5 p.m. Central Time featuring some of the biggest names in electronic music like Tiësto, Zedd, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Jamie Jones and new addition to the lineup Jack Ü.

    Heading into its third year, Dutch electronic music event company ID&T's biggest American festival, TomorrowWorld, has announced the first phase of artists who will be performing in 2015.     Three Amsterdam nightclubs have been granted 24-hour permits, only adding to the Dutch city's reputation as a party town. It also begs the question as to whether they can truly be considered "nightclubs" anymore. The permits have apparently already been approved by mayor Eberhard van der Laan, according to Resident Advisor.

    Every year for the past 11 years, Tiësto has released some of the most celebrated compilation albums in dance music. He first started with his celebrated In Search of Sunrise compilations on Black Hole Recordings in 2005, but with his departure from the label and trance in 2010, the "Wasted" DJ decided to launch a new series the following year titled Clublife. Each edition is inspired by various cities around the world, mostly in the United States that love dance music. Today, Tiësto has taken a page from hip-hop and dropped the compilation, Clublife Vol. 4: New York as a surprise album, featuring the likes of Martin Garrix, Dzeko & Torres, KSHMR, MOTi and many more.

    To celebrate his 19th birthday (yes he is still only 19), Martin Garrix has unveiled the third episode of his tour documentary series, "The Martin Garrix Show.' It follows him on his travels throughout the United States starting in Las Vegas shooting the commercial for 7UP featuring his track with Tiësto titled "The Only Way Is Up." They then head to Miami for the official rollout of the 7UP campaign where they get their own branded cans and Garrix performs all across town.

    If you look up unreleased Avicii music or Avicii ID, you will find countless tracks dating back to 2010. With the arrival of his sophomore album Stories coming at some point this year, Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, has been testing out new music that could potentially be a part of the LP. The "Wake Me Up" producer was tabbed to join Tiesto on his Club Life podcast for a short guest mix and interview. Bergling led off his mix with a "new" song titled "I'll Be Gone," which is in reality an updated version of his Avicii by Avicii remix of the True track "Liar Liar."

Insomniac's Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas has not had trouble in recent memory generating buzz, selling out months before the lineup is even announced. 2015 was no exception, however they still used an interesting technique to unveil the lineup. They shared the lineup poster late last night in the form of a hieroglyphic-styled letters with a picture to help decode the bill. The internet put its collective brainpower together and decoded the mystery and unveil a stacked lineup with names like Tiësto, Calvin Harris, Avicii and others topping the EDC bill.
