Miley Cyrus feels hopeful after her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, divorced his wife, Firerose, after seven months of marriage.

Us Weekly insiders have revealed that Miley, Noah, and their siblings really "never understood" the relationship and that their father married the Australian singer "so abruptly," revealing that "no one approved of the marriage."

Despite this, sources have gathered that "Miley is hopeful this will give some peace to the family," "and she thinks this is a good step in the right direction for him."

Billy Ray got married to Firerose in October 2023. According to TMZ and People, Billy Rat submitted the filing quietly in Nashville on May 22, 2024, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason of their divorce.

Miley has been vocal about her relationship with her father in the past few days despite their checkered history.

In an interview with David Letterman, Miley opened up about her family and childhood. Specifically, she revealed that she "inherited the narcissism" from Billy Ray, talking about their shared conceited traits.

"I also inherited the narcissism from my father," she shared. "I don't know anything about my own siblings except for the part that I was doing. ... I was moving to L.A., and that's all I really knew."

Despite the glaring negative trait, Miley also talked about her father's positive qualities. Miley gushed about her father's humility and his ability to be realistic.

"He also has a relationship and a foot on the ground to nature and to the real. And he always did, even when he was super famous," she told Letterman about her relationship. "And my childhood - I mean, we can go and talk about the hard times or the struggles - but I had food, I had love, I grew up in a beautiful big house and my dad didn't have that."

Despite the silent Cyrus family drama, Miley credits her father with being a guiding light for her.

"My father - I'm grateful for being able to watch him ahead of me," she elaborated. "He's almost given me this map. There is a map of what to do and what not to do. And he's guided me on both."

When asked which had a greater impact on his life, Miley didn't want to express her preference, saying that her parents "can't be weighed on the same scale."
