Gucci Mane is trying to get on Santa's nice list. Currently incarcerated for gun and drugs charges until sometime in 2016, the "Lemonade" rapper released a 23-track mixtape Gucci vs C-Note alongside frequent collaborator, Honorable C-Note on Christmas Day. The mixtape has features from Rich Homie Quan, Chief Keef, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, PeeWee Longway, Pizzle and Young Dolph. It has a mix of previously released records, as well as some new records, which must have been recorded before Mane was sent away, according to Hot New Hip Hop.
The incredibly prolific rapper proves that he has an incredible store of material that he can release at any time. While most rappers would be totally silent after 12 months of being in prison, Gucci still has more music being released that isn't a phoned in verse. Gucci Mane fans can add this mixtape to their ever-growing collection of tracks from the Atlanta rapper.
Gucci has a history of Christmas Day releases. His tenth studio album, The State vs. Radric Davis III: the Caged Bird Sings, was released on Christmas Day last year. These attempts to get off of the naughty list have not worked so far, but maybe things will change once he gets out.
Gucci tweeted to his fans to write him letters in prison earlier this month. He also revealed the artwork for his next album, Trap House 5, which is "coming soon." It is remarkable that he has this much album worthy material ready to go right now, but kudos to Mane for working hard before he went away.
