Headliners include Cat Power, Liars, Stars, the Both (Aimee Mann and Ted Leo), and the Blood Brothers, who have reunited this year after splitting back in 2007. Some of the festival's other acts include a special tribute to Nigerian funk musician William Onyeabor featuring as of yet unannounced special guests, as well as a number of rock and electronic artists from China to fill out the rest of the line-up. • Charli XCX Performs 'I Want Candy' Cover On Transmitter Live [WATCH]

Following in the footsteps of Bow Wow Wow, Aaron Carter, Melanie C, and probably a bunch of other artists, British pop singer Charli XCX recently performed a cover of the Strangeloves' 1965 hit "I Want Candy" for Transmitter Live, which you can watch below. Though the "Fancy" singer is known for her electronic, synth-pop sound, her take on "I Want Candy" remains pretty faithful to the guitar-based arrangement of the original version, or rather, Bow Wow Wow's more popular 1982 version.
  • Watch Electric Zoo's Anti-Molly PSA

Following the alarmingly high number of drug-related deaths at EDM festivals in the past year, New York's Electric Zoo festival is adopting a new approach to curb rampant drug use: a public service announcement. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, concert goers at this year's Electric Zoo on Randall's Island (which takes place Aug. 29-31) will have to watch a two-minute film titled The Molly, named for the drug of choice for many EDM fans, before their wristbands are activated and are allowed access to the festival grounds. The video is part of a new anti-drug campaign called "Come to Life," started by Electric Zoo promoter Made Event. You can check out The Molly below.
  • 8 Albums That End With Instrumentals: Tom Waits, Hüsker Dü, And More

A well-constructed album should flow a lot like a film or a novel, with an engaging opening, rising action, and a satisfying conclusion. Some albums even come with a dénoument or epilogue, an instrumental closer that follows the climax. Here are eight albums that close with instrumental tracks.
  • 15 Song Titles That Describe The Music: George Harrison, Gorillaz, And More

Anyone who writes music can tell you that when a song is first written, it's usually given a boring descriptive title such as "Punk Song in A" or "Song With Slide Guitar" to remind the writer of how it goes. However, sometimes an actual title never comes along, and these descriptive working titles end up in the final tracklisting. Here are 15 song titles that describe the music.
  • 8 Albums Named After Their Cover Songs: Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, And More

When you put a cover song on an album of otherwise original music, it's typically the sort of thing that's tucked away somewhere deep into the tracklisting and not really highlighted. However, these artists felt that their cover songs were so important to the fabric of their albums that they made them the title tracks. Here are eight albums named after their cover songs.
  • 8 Duets We Don't Want To Hear: Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, And More

With the upcoming releases of Smokey Robinson's duets album (Smokey & Friends) and a collaborative album between Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett (Cheek To Cheek), it seems like duets have become pretty popular recently. Though Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's voices seem like they would go well together, there are plenty of other artists who definitely shouldn't sing together. Here are some duets that we do not want to hear.
  • 6 Lo-Fi Albums By Big Rock Stars: Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, And More

One of my favorite genres of music is lo-fi, or "low-fidelity," meaning artists who record their songs onto cheap equipment. Though most lo-fi artists are DIY musicians who work outside of the mainstream and use cheap equipment out of necessity, there are still some highly successful rock stars that have chosen to go lo-fi for aesthetic reasons, or simply out of convenience. Here are six lo-fi albums that were recorded by big rock stars.
  • 10 Artists Who Have Covered Songs From 'Willy Wonka': Mariah Carey, Sammy Davis, Jr., And More

Earlier this week, Primus announced the release of its next album Primus and the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble, a full-length tribute to the cult classic film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The first track from the album that band shared was a cover of the Willy Wonka classic "Pure Imagination," which got us thinking about other artists who have covered songs from the film. Here are ten more covers of Willy Wonka songs. (Most of them are "Pure Imagination," since that's the best song in the film and everyone loves singing it.)
  • Rob Zombie Crowdfunding His Next Film, Says New Album Is 'Halfway Done'

In an interview with Rolling Stone, heavy metal singer and horror film director Rob Zombie revealed that he would be turning to crowdfunding to finance his next film, 31. For those unfamiliar with crowdfunding, it involves asking fans for donations in exchange for rewards, depending on how much they donate. Among the rewards that Zombie would be giving to his prospective donors are props from his previous films, autographed posters, and lifetime passes to all of Zombie’s future concerts.
  • Lorde Expands North American Tour [FULL SCHEDULE]

In addition to curating the artists for the upcoming Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 soundtrack, Lorde has also expanded her North American tour by four dates. According to a press release, the "Royals" singer will now be bringing her tour to Atlanta before making a stop at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. She will also be playing additional show at the Greek Theatres in Berkley and Los Angeles.
  • Chance The Rapper Covers 'Arthur' Theme Song With Wyclef, Jessie Ware, And More [LISTEN]

As he gathers steam for his set at Lollapalooza this coming Sunday (August 3), Chicago's Chance The Rapper has shared what is, hands down, the most unusual cover song of 2014: a hip-hop version of "Wonderful Everyday" by Ziggy Marley. If that song title doesn't quite ring any bells for you, you might know it better as the theme song to Arthur, the animated children's program on PBS. The show premiered in 1996, so you can bet that millenials are completely losing their minds over Chance's version of the theme song, since nothing sells these days quite like '90s nostalgia.
  • Bee Gees' Robin Gibb: Final Song To Be Released In September

The final song ever composed and recorded by the late Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb will be released this September, on the posthumous album 50 St. Catherine's Drive. The song is titled "Sydney," named for Sydney, Australia, and was recorded onto an iPad in 2011, about nine months before Gibb passed away of liver and colon cancer at age 62. The song will appear as the last track on 50 St. Catherine's Drive in its unfinished demo form.
  • Chris Cornell Stalker Arrested, Accused Of Harassing Soundgarden Singer

Last week, the FBI arrested a Florida woman on charges of stalking and harassing Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell. The suspect, 32-year old Jessica Leigh Robbins of Tampa, Florida, had allegedly threatened Cornell and his family with an alarmingly high number of posts and messages through various social media outlets. A federal judge in New York issued the warrant for Robbins' arrest, while a federal judge in Tampa set her bail at $50,000, which she paid on Friday. Robbins is currently awaiting trial in Tampa, where she lives with her mother.
  • Sam Smith Critiques Vin Diesel's Version Of 'Stay With Me' [WATCH]

Continuing his trend of politely engaging in bizarre, inexplicably music-related questions during his current Guardians of the Galaxy press tour, actor Vin Diesel treated Capital FM to a semi-karaoke rendition of Sam Smith's smash hit "Stay With Me." Though I personally thought that Diesel's take on the song was pretty cringe-worthy and nothing to be at all impressed about, Sam Smith apparently thought it was "amazing," and I suppose his opinion is more important than anyone else's.
  • Justin Bieber Taunts Orlando Bloom On Instagram, Posts Picture Of The Actor Crying [PHOTO]

If you thought that Justin Bieber was going to handle his high-profile scuffle with actor Orlando Bloom with any sort of class or dignity, you apparently know nothing about Justin Bieber, and I envy you. Last night, after the incident had already been widely reported, Bieber took to Instagram and posted a photo of Orlando Bloom apparently crying at a red carpet event. Naturally, Beliebers thought this move was brilliant, while pretty much everyone else found it childish.
  • Alicia Keys Is Pregnant, Posts Instagram Photo With Husband Swizz Beatz [PHOTOS]

R&B singer Alicia Keys has announced that she is pregnant with her second child. The announcement came in a photo posted to Instagram featuring Keys posing with her husband, hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz, who are celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary today. The photo features the 33-year-old "Girl On Fire" singer sporting a baby bump while her 35-year-old husband sits beside her (though she should really be the one sitting down, being pregnant and all).
  • Watch David Guetta At Tomorrowland Have Existential Crisis

At Belgium's Tomorrowland Festival this past weekend, French EDM superstar David Guetta took some time out of his set to confront the existential horror of mindlessly twisting knobs for thousands of people as countless atrocities are being committed against innocent civilians at the very same moment. Or, you know, maybe he just got really high before he went on stage. Either way, there's footage of Guetta looking pretty bummed out during his set, which isn't really something we've come to expect from anyone willfully attending an EDM festival, even the DJs.
  • Morrissey Responds To Lawsuit, Says Former Bodyguard Is "Desperate"

In a statement posted to his website truetoyou.com, Morrissey addressed the lawsuit filed against him by his former bodyguard Bradley Steyn. According to Steyn, he was fired after he refused to "hurt" a Morrissey fan by the name of David Tseng, whose fansite morrissey-solo.com was considered to be overly intrusive into the personal life of the former Smiths singer. However, in Morrissey's statement, the singer not only denies Steyn's allegations, he also denies knowing Steyn at all, saying, "I cannot admit to actually "knowing" Bradley Steyn...My personal involvement with him has been zero, and he has certainly never been Head Of Security on any Morrissey tour."
  • Justin Bieber (Almost) Got Punched By Orlando Bloom [WATCH]

TMZ reports that Justin Bieber and actor Orlando Bloom got into a tense confrontation at a bar in Ibiza last night, with eyewitnesses claiming that Bloom even threw a punch at the 20-year-old singer. There are varying accounts as to what exactly happened, no doubt influenced by each eyewitness's personal opinion of Justin Bieber, but what is certain is that Bieber approached Bloom, things got tense, Bloom threw a punch, and Bieber left.

Today, legendary producer Butch Vig took to Twitter to announce that the new Foo Fighters album has finally been completed, and declares the finished product to be “EPIC!!!” The as-of-yet untitled album will be the Foo Fighter’s eighth overall, its first since 2011’s Wasting Light, and is slated for release in November.

Now that Iggy Azalea has conquered the music world with her smash hit "Fancy" and is making her way over to television as the host of MTV's "House of Style," the Aussie rapper is going to try her hand at acting. In a recent interview with French radio station SkyrockFM in support of his new film Guardians of the Galaxy, actor Vin Diesel revealed that he had recently worked with Azalea on the set of the upcoming Fast & Furious 7.
