• Diplo and Skrillex Talk New Music, Riff Raff and More on 'Ebro in the Morning'

    The New York City media tour has been quite busy for Diplo and Skrillex this week. Hitting non-traditional outlets for dance music disc jockeys — meaning not the blogs, magazines and dance radio — the duo went on different radio and TV stations throughout the day to spread the good word about Skrillex and Diplo. They stopped in at Hot 97 to chat with Ebro Darden on his radio show "Ebro in the Morning" about a variety of topics including Riff Raff, new music, their roots and more via Do Androids Dance.It is not often that you see two dance producers/DJs on a hip-hop morning radio show, but Skrillex and Diplo have become big enough to earn that honor. Ebro has been skeptical of Riff Raff, someone who Diplo signed to his label Mad Decent, and they both assure him about the seriousness of Riff Raff and agree he is a quirky, polarizing individual who loves what he does, which is what attracts Diplo to him.

But all rules go out the window when Diplo and Skrillex are involved, according to EDMTunes — especially when it is Diplo's birthday. Yesterday, as part of a non-traditional media day for disc jockeys, Skrillex and Diplo made an appearance on the show along with New Jersey DJs and producers DJ Fire and Dougie Fresh, who have released tracks on Diplo's record label Mad Decent.Since the show was geared toward an urban audience, the questions were related to their work with hip-hop and R&B acts, something both of them have experience in, Diplo especially. Diplo dished on club music, specifically Jersey club, and how he got in touch with DJ Fire and Dougie Fresh and the influence club music is having on the wider music arena.They discussed the inspiration for their new project Jack U and what it is up to over the next few months, including their Madison Square Garden show on New Year's Eve.

    Jack U, the super duo consisting of Skrillex and Diplo, have officially released on their soundcloud page the blistering, two-hour Diplo & Friends mix they crafted when the twosome took over Diplo's BBC Radio One residency two weekends ago on Oct. 25, according to BBC.Skrillex and Diplo first formed Jack U to give a name to a creative relationship that had already existed for several years. Skrillex is no stranger to the big name DJ collaborations with his work alongside German techno leader Boys Noize as Dog Blood and Diplo as well as a long-standing member of Major Lazer. With their strong friendship and common vision as artists and label owners, the collaboration made sense.

    Belgian EDM festival Tomorrowland has shared the official Aftermovie of this year's event, which took place in Boom, Belgium on July 18, 19, and 20, and again on July 25, 26, and 27. The Aftermovie is an annual recap film that documents some of the award-winning festival's highlights. Some headliners at this year's Tomorrowland festival included Steve Aoki, Skrillex, Diplo, Tiësto, and David Guetta (who had a mild existential crisis on stage, which was of course gloriously captured on video).
