• Neil Young records cover songs in Jack White's voice-o-graph booth on Fallon [WATCH]

    Neil Young and Jack White stopped by The Tonight Show last night and made history. White brought along his refurbished 1940s-era Voice-o-Graph recording booth for Young to use in recording a live cover of Willie Nelson’s song “Crazy” and Ivory Joe Hunter’s “Since I Met You Baby,” which were simultaneously pressed to vinyl. After the show, the newly pressed vinyl was played on a turntable.

    When it comes to releasing efforts on vinyl, it's hard to be beat Jack White on creativity. Previously, he's released a record via 1,000 helium balloons, invented the triple decker vinyl record and created The World's Fastest Released Record. So it comes as no surprise that he has something special in store for the vinyl release of his sophomore album, Lazaretto.

    With vinyl sales increasing 32 percent last year with 6.1 million LPs sold, the supply hasn't quite met up with the demand for newly pressed vinyl. One problem is the production capacity of the plants that press them. Many plants have closed down and sold their old presses for parts, but one plant is making plans for expansion. Nashville's United Record pressing plant, made famous for pressing Jack White's vinyl efforts, is ready for more space and more presses.

Now he's dropped the studio version of the single and has revealed the album's tracklist. The 11-track Lazaretto, White's second solo album and follow-up to 2012's Blunderbuss, is due out June 10 via Third Man Records.
