White brought along his refurbished 1940s-era Voice-o-Graph recording booth for Young to use in recording a live cover of Willie Nelson’s song “Crazy” and Ivory Joe Hunter’s “Since I Met You Baby,” which were simultaneously pressed to vinyl. After the show, the newly pressed vinyl was played on a turntable. -

Country's largest vinyl manufacturer expanding operations to meet new demand
With vinyl sales increasing 32 percent last year with 6.1 million LPs sold, the supply hasn't quite met up with the demand for newly pressed vinyl. One problem is the production capacity of the plants that press them. Many plants have closed down and sold their old presses for parts, but one plant is making plans for expansion. Nashville's United Record pressing plant, made famous for pressing Jack White's vinyl efforts, is ready for more space and more presses. -

The 11-track Lazaretto, White's second solo album and follow-up to 2012's Blunderbuss, is due out June 10 via Third Man Records. The title track off his upcoming solo album, Lazaretto, was recorded live, mastered, pressed and sold in in just three hours and 21 minutes at White's Third Man Records headquarters in Nashville. -

Jack White has announced his first run of tour dates in support of his upcoming solo album, Lazaretto, due out June 10 via Third Man Records/Columbia. This jaunt kicks off in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and goes through early August with stops at Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, Forecastle and Osheaga along the way.
