    Yesterday, the hip-hop and music community at large woke up to the shocking and tragic news that up-and-coming New York rapper Chinx Drugz, real name Lionel Pickens, had been shot and killed in a drive-by-shooting. He had been shot multiple times in hit car in Queens at around 4 a.m. after finishing up a performance at Club Red Wolf in Brooklyn at around 2:30 a.m. Condolences and messages have been flying in from all across hip-hop on social media as artists try to cope with the news that one of their own was taken from them too soon. One of those who was most affected by the news was Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill, who put up an Instagram picture of him, Chinx and French Montana, the mentor for Pickens, with a long, personal noted attached. In addition to that pic, Meek Mill has also recorded and released a powerful tribute track to Chinx titled "Miss My Dawgs" featuring Travi$ Scott and Strap.

    The hip-hop community is mourning the death of one of its one today after rapper Chinx Drugz, real name Lionel Pickens, 31, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Queens early Sunday, according to police. Pickens was struck multiple times while his passenger was struck twice in the Porsche Chinx was driving at around 4 a.m. At least seven bullets pierced the front and driver-side windows according to reports. News has spread quickly today of the passing of the rapper signed to French Montana's Coke Boys imprint and support has poured from artists like Wiz Khalifa, Lil Durk, Meek Mill and Diddy.
