• Wiz Khalifa 'See You Again' Tops Hot 100: OMI, Silento & Rachel Platten Make Gains

    It's not even a "See You Again" for Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth and the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100: it's that they're never leaving. For the 12th nonconsecutive week, the Furious 7 soundtrack single has topped the charts - but new singles from OMI, Jack Ü with Justin Bieber and Rachel Platten are coming up quickly as summer gets hotter.

  • Mariah Carey, Madonna and TLC: The Longest Hot 100 Streaks of 1995

    TLC celebrated the beginning of its longest streak on the Hot 100 on this date 20 years ago, as "Waterfalls" topped the singles charts for seven weeks afterward. Now, the Hot 100 is different than the Billboard 200 in that it's rare for any one album to top the chart for more than a few weeks, while songs can rack up huge runs on their chart. For example, only two albums have been at no. 1 for more than one week during 2015 (Taylor Swift's 1989 and Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly), while Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" has ruled the Hot 100 for 14 weeks thus far (the other 14 weeks have been split between Swift and Wiz Khalifa). Five songs managed to stay at no. 1 for seven weeks or more during 1995...so at least 35 of the year's 52 weeks were owned by just five songs. Check out the playlist of '95's most popular tracks.

  • Meek Mill Dominates Billboard 200; Miguel, Taylor Swift Try to Keep Up

    Things started off big on the Billboard 200, with Meek Mill's 'Dreams Worth More Than Money', but then quickly dropped off. Mill might argue that his ideals have more philosophical value, but he can't argue with the financial results: Dreams opened with 246,000 in equivalent sales, easily marking his best sales week ever, as well as the fourth-largest opening of 2015 (trailing only Drake's 'If You're Reading This It's Too Late,' Kendrick Lamar's 'To Pimp A Butterfly' and Mumford & Sons' 'Wilder Mind').

    Taylor Swift continues to shatter records with her new album 1989. After having the best-selling album of the year thus far, three No. 1 hits and fighting the battle against free streaming services, it turns out she continues to break music video records, too. Her second music video, "Blank Space," has been deemed the fastest clip to reach one billion views on VEVO.

    Taylor Swift has officially and successfully morphed genres from country to pure pop, but what would she sound like as a classic rock, reggae, rap or '90s R&B act? In a new viral video, metal singer Anthony Vincent has recreated Swift's latest 1989 hit "Bad Blood" (featuring Kendrick Lamar) using the distinct style of 20 different musicians. Everyone from South Park's Chef to Black Sabbath to TLC and Cyndi Lauper are covered in the impressive four-minute video.

    Billboard came up with a fun project for the July 4th holiday, assigning a music performer that best represents each of the 50 states. According to the site, final decisions were largely based on sales results from its charts, but a performer's deception to their home state via its lyrics also made a difference.   • Breaking Benjamin Breaks Sales Mark with New Album; Tori Kelly + Kacey Musgraves Follow

    Apparently the waiting only makes desire stronger, or at least that's what Breaking Benjamin learned with its most recent release, 'Dark Before Dawn.' The band had gone more than six years without a new album but the new release debuted with 141,000 equivalent copies sold (and 135,000 actual copies, marking the group's highest sales week ever). It's also the band's first no. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Kacey Musgraves and Tori Kelly also dropped new albums.

  • Thom Yorke Albums on Apple Music...Despite Unadulterated Hatred for Streaming

    Taylor Swift has become the figurehead of the anti-streaming movement in the last year thanks to pulling '1989' and the rest of her discography from Spotify during 2014, but Radiohead's Thom Yorke has hated the concept longer and more deeply than anyone. Yet Stereogum (as well as the rest of the world) was shocked to find that the frontman's solo discography was ready for streaming on Apple Music.
