    This past weekend, the dance music world had their gaze turned to Electric Daisy Carnival at Las Vegas Motor Speedway outside of Sin City in Nevada. However across the pond fans of less mainstream genres enjoyed music from equally respected, but not as big ticket DJs internationally at 2015 edition of Sonár Festival. One of those, which deviate from that trend, was Skrillex, real name Sonny Moore, and his set was recorded live. As to be expected, the video has made its way onto the web and we have it for you so you can watch all 82 minutes of Moore's live set, which includes selections from Fetty Wap, Jack Ü, his duo with Diplo, which recently released their debut album at the end of February, Wiz Khalifa, Damian Marley.

    The public perception of DJs may be of pampered individuals who are paid to fly around the world and party as a glorified iTunes playlist. Beyond the sleep deprivation, flight delays and time spent producing records required to be a touring DJ (if they do it themselves), things can actually get very dangerous. One Indian DJ, Arun Valmiki found this out while working a private party at the residence of a local businessman in the torn of Bareilly in the Uttar Pradesh state, in Northern India. One guest requested a song titled "Tamanche De Disco," which translates from Hindo as "dancing with an illegal firearm." After Valmiki denied the request, the guest was so enraged that he pulled out a revolver he brought to the revolver and shot the DJ.

    Kaskade, real name Ryan Raddon, has been relatively quiet on the production front in 2015, but signs are pointing to a swell of new music coming soon. Earlier this year, the "Atmosphere" DJ released his new single "Never Sleep Alone" with an accompanying video. However over the past few months, Raddon has started to tease new music in his major festival sets at Coachella and EDC Las Vegas, including a track with Galantis titled "Mercy" and one from EDC titled "Disarm You" featuring the vocals of Ilsey. Kaskade has uploaded a rip of "Disarm You" from his set at Electric Daisy Carnival this past weekend to his Soundcloud so fans will be able to listen back to the track again and again before its release.

    Dej Loaf and Young Thug have teamed up on a new track titled "Shawty." Loaf burst onto the scene with her sensual R&B jams, but unlike in the past, she has decided to switch mediums to rap for this raunchy sexual track with Thugger. "Shawty" is about a great lover that Loaf has who is able to please her in the bedroom in ways that are explicitly laid out in the track.
  • Electric Daisy Carnival Announces Expansion for Brazil In 2015

    The dust has barely settled over Las Vegas Motor Speedway from the nearly 500,000 pairs of dancing feet at Electric Daisy Carnival and the company who throws the festival, Insomniac Events has already announced a brand new massive which will take place at the end of the year. Insomniac has announced a fresh expansion beyond its traditional base in the United States southward to Brazil for EDC Brasil. The event will take place over two days, Dec. 4-5.

    This past weekend, ravers from all over the West Coast and the United States proper descended on Las Vegas motor speedway to dance from sunset to sun up at Insomniac Events' flagship festival EDC Las Vegas. In total nearly 500,000 people attended the festival over three days. However, a 24-year-old man died overnight on Saturday according to police. The cause of death is still being determined as a toxicology results may take weeks, but the extreme heat is likely to have had an effect. Insomniac released a statement about the 24-year-old attendee's passing late on Sunday.

    The Chemical Brothers have unveiled another track from their upcoming album Born In The Echoes. "Under Neon Lights" is a vintage lo-fi, trippy and grungy production from Rowlands and Simons, and St. Vincent's haunting vocals mesh right in.

    Purity Ring has been on the road almost non-stop since April in support of their sophomore album Another Eternity and they have no plans to take a break anytime soon. The Canadian duo announced a new batch of tour dates on their expansive world takeover. The duo will touch down on three different continents over the next six months, hitting countries like Australia, France, Belgium, England and the United States, where they will tour extensively this fall.
  • Deadmau5, Disney Settle Trademark Dispute Over Mouse Head

    The longstanding dispute between entertainment conglomerate Disney and Canadian producer, DJ Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman has been resolved. According to one of Zimmerman's lawyers via The Hollywood Reporter, "Disney and Deadmau5 have amicably resolved their dispute." The terms have not been made public yet, but they will likely be made available via the Trademark Office.

Tyler saw the post and wrote a very lengthy response of his own detailing the evolution of his own life and expressing the desire to move on as a human being and emotionally from four years ago.

    Amidst all of the pressure from other major streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and TIDAL, Soundcloud has found itself struggling to keep up as it attempts to resolve its ability to monetize the content on its platform without alienating its users. On Tuesday, the service announced a move to cap the number of plays on a third party site like a blog using a Soundcloud customized API. The cap is at 15,000 plays over 24 hours per streamable item, which may sound like a lot, but for a select few number of sites that are able to drive a lot of traffic, this could be pretty devastating.

No further details were revealed about how many more songs would be on the EP, when it would be released or if there were any collaborators, but yesterday Tchami shared one more detail to clue us in on what the future holds. The "future house" house pioneer shared a video for packed with footage taken from various recent festival gigs for his new collaboration with Los Angeles-based US bass (think more house, but a heavier brand of house) producer, DJ AC Slater and UK vocalist Kaleem Taylor, who sang on "Promesses."
