Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo Shares New Knight Club Song
The members of Daft Punk Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo are known as some of the most popular DJs in the world together, but they each have their own individual projects that excel as well. Bangalter has been producing disco and French touch for over 20 years, with a more active discography in the 1990s. Homem-Christo has also been active producing French touch and working with other composers to help score pieces for films - similar to Daft Punk's effort for Tron. A new piece of music from Homem-Christo's side project Le Knight Club with Eric Chedeville (Rico the Wizard, Sixtine 1/3) has emerged on the web from the score of Gates Of The Sun, a French film about a paramilitary group fighting to keep Algeria under French rule. -
Kid Cudi Talks Role As Ari Gold's Assistant In Entourage Movie
One of the summer's biggest blockbusters -- the Entourage Movie - is set to open this week. The actors have been doing the rounds promoting the film and talking about the big screen adaptation of the popular HBO series. In addition to the normal cast, the movie continued the trend from the show in having big-name celebrity guests. The film has already confirmed names like Tom Brady, Mark Wahlberg, Ronda Rosey and many different musicians. One of those who will have a more important is Kid Cudi, who plays the role of Ari Gold's (Jeremy Piven) assistant after Lloyd leaves. -
Daft Punk Documentary Gets Release Date For French TV
The release date has been set for the upcoming Daft Punk documentary airing on French TV next month. The project was announced a little over a year ago and will air on June 24 on Canal Plus, which helped produce the film in coordination with BBC Worldwide Production France. The doc, titled Daft Punk Unchained will be 80 minutes in length and feature some of their noted collaborators including Pharrell and Giorgio Moroder. -
Sony Music Has 'No Plans' To Pull Beyoncé From TIDAL Catalog
Contrary to prior rumors and reports, Beyoncé is not in jeopardy of having her catalogue of music pulled down from the music service she has invested in and the one her husband owns, TIDAL. This according to a statement by Sony Music CEO Doug Morris who says the label has "no plans" to take her music down from Jay Z's TIDAL. -

Glastonbury Organizer Emily Eavis Recieved Death Threats After Kanye West Booking
Glastonbury took a lot of flack from a group of rock loving, hip-hop hating fans when the world famous festival decided to book Kanye West as one of the headliners on the Pyramid stage. Within the first 48 hours, over 50,000 people signed a petition to have the "All Day" rapper replaced by a rock headliner. To date, over 134,000 people have signed that petition. However, the anger at the booking was not just reserved to a change.com petition, it apparently went much further then that. According to Glastonbury organizer, Emily Eavis, who has been the most vocal defender of the booking and supporter of Kanye West from the festival, she has received death threats because of it. -

Avicii Releases 'Waiting For Love' 360 Degree Perspective Video
Following the heart-warming and at times, tear-jerking release of the lyric video for his new single, "Waiting For Love," Avicii has unveiled an interactive 360-degree perspective visual for the track. The new clip features a dance troop jumping in and out of doors in the middle of a warehouse performing wonky and quick moving dance moves. Last night, Tyler, The Creator got super sentimental while looking through old Odd Future pictures and shared some of those emotions on Twitter because that's what you do now. As he was reminiscing, it appeared that the 'Cherry Bomb' rapper let slip that his collective had broken up when he stated, "although its no more, those 7 letters are forever." Unaware of the consequences of saying something like that in public, Tyler went to sleep thinking everything was all right, when in fact, fans were convinced that Odd Future was finished. He woke up this morning and saw all of the headlines and online activity. He tried to clear things up by saying that people shouldn't read into his comments, he was simply looking over some old pictures with friends. -

Kanye West Settles 'Bound 2' Sample Lawsuit With Ricky Spicer
Kanye West has settled the 2013 lawsuit stemming from a sample used in his Grammy-nominated Yeezus track "Bound 2." The lawsuit was filed by Ricky Spicer, former soul singer of The Ponderosa Twins Plus One, who alleged that Kanye had used their song "Bound" with their authorization. According to paperwork viewed by Billboard (dated March 6) that was filed to New York court on May 11, the suit has been discontinued. -

Robert Sillerman Taking SFX Entertainment Private After Raising Offer
SFX Entertainment announced on Tuesday, May 26 that it was officially going to be taken private by its Chairman and CEO Robert FX Sillerman. The deal would value the dance and electronic music giant at nearly $490 million after Sillerman raised his per share offer. According to a press release, Sillerman will purchase all remaining outstanding stock he did already own, 62.6 percent, at $5.25 per share. -
Avicii, Icona Pop Performing At Swedish Royal Wedding
With Sweden's storied lineage of DJs that span from the likes of Adam Beyer, Eric Prydz, Henrik B, Axwell and newcomers such as Alesso and Avicii, it should be no surprise that those in the highest rung of society would be interested in the genre. According to Swedish website The Local, which cites an interview with Swedish radio station NRJ, Avicii has confirmed that he will be performing at the royal wedding between Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist next month. The "Wake Me Up" DJ joins Icona Pop as confirmed artists who will perform during the June 13 banquet at the Royal Palace. -
