    A$AP Rocky's highly anticipated sophomore album At.Long.Last.A$AP (A.L.L.A) has been released on iTunes and Spotify. The release date, without much of a warning, was pushed up to today after originally being slated to drop on June 2. The LP features some pretty big name artists including M.I.A., Lil Wayne, Schoolboy Q, Juicy J and others. Rocky tabbed an eclectic mix of producers for this album including Kanye West, Danger Mouse, Da Honorable C.N.O.T.E., Mike Dean and even himself for several tracks.

People have scratched their heads over the censorship that occurred during Kanye's set and perhaps more under the radar, but newly reported by Vice's Thump, is a potential theft of intellectual property by David Guetta and Nicki Minaj. The pair performed their hit single, "Hey Mama," and some of the background installations look almost identical to those of a Burning Man art installation known as the HYBYCOZO series.
  • Ultra Records CEO Patrick Moxey Backs Sony In Soundcloud Fight

    The battle between Sony and Soundcloud has turned ugly this month as the label has decided to start pull down it's artist's music from the Berlin music service. Among those who have been affected this far include Adele, Miguel, Passion Pit and in the next day or two Madeon. Sony Music recently bought dance music label Ultra Records as its U.S. electronic music branch. Ultra Records CEO Patrick Moxey was a speaker at IMS Engage in Ibiza, a conference for electronic music industry folks and he was asked about the conflict between his label parent and Soundcloud. According to Music Week, he backed Sony and spoke rather candidly about the lack of monetization opportunities found on Soundcloud at the moment - a common theme echoed among labels now.

    Frequent Chief Keef collaborator, Fredo Santana has released a new mixtape Ain't No Money Like Trap Money Volume 1. The Chicago MC has released the full 15-track project with a whole host of big name features. Of the 15 tracks on the 15 tracks on the tape, only two are solo and he made sure those features were worth it. He was able to get names like his cousin Chief Keef, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Durk and Kevin Gates on the tape. Of course, when you have a project like this that is so street-driven, Gucci Mane is going to appear and there he is on "Play With Your Children."
  • Skrillex Launches Satellite For New Google Editions Phone Case

    Skrillex is always looking to do something different, and his next project certainly fits that description. He has teamed up with Google to create limited edition phone cases for Android devices, titled "Editions." The "Where Are Ü Now" producer has unveiled three unique designs inspired by his lifelong fascination with space, which has been seen by his usage of the alien emoji on social media and that same graphic as the album art for his recent album Recess. To make the collaboration even more special, Skrillex, real name Sonny Moore, has launched a satellite named after the American producer's dog Nanou, into space, which will take pictures of the earth and project them on your phone as rotating wallpapers each day.

The music video channels one of the biggest movies in the United States right now Mad Max with its cinematography and costume design. It could also be a weird camp at Burning Man. Guetta noted the similarities in an interview with Billboard, saying "I'm a big Mad Max fan so this video is perfect for me."

They will be performing or appearing at many of the same festivals, holiday parties and awards shows this summer and it did not make sense to have this hang over their heads, giving the public license to speculate about what might happen with both superstars in the room.

In the 10 days leading up to the album's release, he had fans find clues in cities across the United States and those who collected them would be taken to a special location that night like the Grand Canyon or Alcatraz, for an intimate show with Zedd where he would premiere a new song from the album. On the album release, Zedd brought the 10-day party to a close in New York City, using landmarks like Times Square and Washington Square Park as clues, before leading fans to the top of the Empire State Building for a special acoustic show that night.

    Streaming is the next frontier for music - denying it is only going to make the transition harder. The primary issue has been getting artists, songwriters and content creators paid a fair shake for their music. While most of the attention has been focused on services like Spotify and their small payouts, little has been given to the labels and their contracts with the streaming services, which have been kept secret until now. The Verge was able to obtain a copy of Sony's previous agreement with Spotify, which shines light on the splits, advances and payments that the major label was able to get from the Swedish streaming giant, as well as some outside revenue sources that have not been previously shared.
