This week, news spread about a parody play loosed based around a Canadian producer, DJ deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, titled Deadmouse The Musical. Zimmerman has decided to call upon his team of Hollywood lawyers to threaten a lawsuit to stop the musical from going forward less than a month from curtains opening. -

Ultra Music Festival and Art Basel are the most widely known festivals that occur place in Miami each year, but they are is not the only multi-day music event happening in the Southern tip of Florida. Since it is warm nearly year-round in Miami, organizers can take advantage of the climate and schedule events beyond the traditional summer months. This fall III Points Festival will return to the SOHO Studios in Miami's artsy Wynwood neighborhood. EDC Las Vegas Announces Yahoo Live Stream, 2015 Set Times
Insomniac Events' flagship event, EDC Las Vegas is just over 24 hours away from kicking off this Friday, June 19. The massive three-day electronic music festival will feature over 200 of the biggest DJs in the world like Avicii, Hardwell, Tiësto, Calvin Harris, Eric Prydz, Carl Cox, Martin Garrix and Steve Angello over eight stages with brand new production and design. With the festival only two sleeps away (Unless you count a midday nap on Friday as a third), Electric Daisy Carnival has unveiled the full schedule with set times for when artists will perform each day. In addition to that, the festival has also announced a partnership with Yahoo to live stream all three days for free on Yahoo Screen. -
Life Is Beautiful 2015 Lineup: Snoop Dogg, Chance The Rapper Added
Another Planet & Insomniac's Life Is Beautiful Festival has already tapped some pretty huge names to perform this September in Las Vegas. Today, the three-day event has announced six new acts who will join the festival when it kicks off on September 25. The biggest name on that list is Bush rapper Snoop Dogg, followed by Surf contributor Chance The Rapper and then Ab-Soul, The Magician, Alessia Cara and Wave Racer. They will join previously announced headliners like Kendrick Lamar, Stevie Wonder, Duran Duran, Imagine Dragons and Hozier. -

Deadmau5 Getting Musical Starring Chris Baker and Sarah Horseman
Deadmau5 has done some interesting things in his life. He has been a special guest at a cat festival, driven the Gumball 3000 and performed in front of tens of thousands all over the world, but this may the oddest one yet. The "Strobe" producer is now being immortalized in a new play occurring at the Al Green Theater in Toronto called Deadmouse the Musical. He apparently was not involved in musical in any way, nor has he endorsed it any way, but the tenor of the show is right up his alley. -

The man, the myth, the legend, Giorgio Moroder, has completed his comeback after retiring from public life in the early 1990s with his first album in 30 years, Déjà Vu. The man who revolutionized electronic music and disco, creating some of the biggest hits of the 20th century like Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" is looking to make his stamp on modern electronic music with a retro feel that only the Daft Punk collaborator can deliver. The album features some of the biggest names in pop music today like Charli XCX, Sia, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and Foxes. -
Electric Zoo Releases 2015 Day-To-Day Schedules, Stage Lineups
New York City's largest EDM festival, Electric Zoo has announced the daily breakdown of which artists will perform which day on Randall's Island this year. Entering its 7th year after kicking things off as small 2-day event in 2009, the festival enters 2015 with high hopes of changing the narrative of canceled third days with a big lineup. Though the festival has not fully announced the lineup, the vast majority of the artists have been laid out in front of us and they have been placed on their designated stages. -
Fetty Wap Releases 'Sumn Quick,' 'Ride or Die' with 'LHH' Jhonni Blaze
Fetty Wap, real name Willie Maxwell, continues to dominate with "Trap Queen" and now "My Way" and is looking to keep up the momentum with a string of features and freestyles. He was picked in the exclusive XXL Freshman 15 and delivered a cypher for that and now has unveiled two shorts demos that he has been working on as presents to his fans. On Sunday, the "My Way" rapper shared "Ride Of Die," which he is listed as the featured artist alongside Jhonni Blaze of Love & Hip Hop fame and then uploaded a brand new demo "Sumn Quick." -
Hudson Mohawke Releases 'Lantern' Feat. Miguel, Jhené Aiko
Hudson Mohawke, real name Ross Brichard, has finally released his sophomore album Lantern through Warp Records after promoting the LP with singles and videos over the past few months. He previewed the album in full last week on iTunes radio. The 14-track album is split between instrumentals and vocal collaborations in the R&B and rap world. He taps names big and small like Miguel, Jhené Aiko, Irfane and Antony to sing on Lantern. The new LP is Hud Mo's first album since 2010's Butter. -
Jack Ü, Justin Bieber 'Where Are Ü Now' Remixed by Kaskade
Jack Ü's hit collaboration with Justin Bieber, "Where Are Ü Now," got off to a slow start after it was released surprisingly at the end of February with the rest of the duo's album, 'Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü.' It has since become of one of the biggest dance songs on the radio next to tracks like "Hey Mama" and "Lean On," coincidentally, another Diplo production. The track doesn't really need much more promotion at the moment, but the pair asked fellow American star DJ, Kaskade to remix it, and his work has been released today. -

UK superstar electronic-pop band, Duran Duran, has announced the name and release date of its 14th album, 'Paper Gods' on September 11 through Warner Bros. Records. The LP will feature some pretty big names like Janelle Monáe, who sings on the albums first single, "Pressure Off," Kiesza, former Red Hot Chili Peppers' guitarist John Frusciante and oddly enough, Lindsay Lohan. -

19-Year-Old Man Dies Outside of Spring Awakening Festival
Tragedy has struck the music community again. On Saturday night, June 13, a 19-year-old man was found dead outside of EDM event Spring Awakening Music Festival in Chicago. According to ABC 7 Chicago, police suspect the death to be drug related, but are waiting for the results of a toxicity screen. The three-day festival took place at Soldier Field, which is home to the Chicago Bears. Big-name DJs like Hardwell, Tiësto, Skrillex, Diplo, their duo Jack Ü, Eric Prydz, Zedd and others all performed at Spring Awakening. -
Childish Gambino Premieres New Song at Bonnaroo Ahead of Album
Bonnaroo came and went this past weekend and while many attendees are still making their way home and piecing their lives back together, but the rest of us are ogling over live footage from the various Super Jams, live premieres and impromptu guest appearances that are customary on The Farm. One of the artists that used the massive platform that is Bonnaroo to premiere some music was Childish Gambino. He took the stage on Saturday night and appeared to open his set with a brand new track that would indicate a brand new direction with his music. -
Rich Homie Quan Apologizes For Second Leaked Song About Raping Women
Rich Homie Quan, real name Dequantes Lamar, has had a rough go of things lately and he only has himself to blame. In May a treasure trove of tracks were leaked from the Rich Gang archive, most of then unfinished demos that were never intended for release. As they spread on the Internet, unfortunately for Rich Homie Quan, two of the songs were him discussing raping women. He apologized for the first track, but after the second song, "Day 1," the "Flex" rapper was left without much moral ground to stand on. He has attempted to apologize for the second track in a new interview for Billboard, saying that he was young and had no guidance in his life at the time. -

Last night a special hip-hop moment happened. One of the very best to ever pick up a mic, Nas appeared on stage with Run The Jewels -- one of the hottest up-and-coming duos in hip-hop right now. Run The Jewels were scheduled to perform as the headliner at 50 Kent, the main outdoor venue at the Northside Festival in Brooklyn, and they had a very special trick up their sleeves. The Illmatic rapper showed up as a surprise guest to perform his 'God's Son' track "Made You Look" at the end of RTJ's set and your author was on hand to capture the action on video. -

Fetty Wap, real name Willie Maxwell, has been the revelation of 2015. Everything he has put out recently has been a hit and the momentum does not appear to be stopping. Zedd Releases 'Beautiful Now' Video Ahead Of 'True Colors' Tour
It has been nearly a month since Zedd released his second artist album True Colors and the LP has not lost much of its luster. Though it was a little sloppy, one of the tracks "Beautiful Now" featuring Visionary Music Group singer Jon Bellion has emerged as a bonafide hit and has been pushed that way by the Russian-born producer's label Interscope Records. In support of the album, Zedd will be touring extensively this fall and winter. -

Lil Wayne made major headlines today when a video emerged of him announcing an undisclosed deal with Jay Z. With the moves behind the scenes starting to crystallize, Weezy has still been stamping his name on various remixes, freestyles and features in 2015 as his much-anticipated album Tha Carter V remains in legal purgatory as a result of his $51 million lawsuit with Birdman's Cash Money Records. On Friday, the "Glory" rapper shared two freestyles over tracks from French Montana's "Off The Rip" and Bankroll Fresh's "Hot Boy." Swedish DJ super duo, Axwell / Ingrosso has released the music video for their recent single "Sun Is Shining." However last night we may have seen a major development in what has been a very toxic situation for Weezy's career. Last night at legacy Bay Area hip-hop radio station 106 KMEL's annual Summer Jam, Lil Wayne performed and during his set he took the time to make a very special career-related announcement. Details are very scarce, but according to an Instagram video from the night, Weezy announced to the crowd that he had signed a deal with Jay Z, more specifically saying "I just signed a deal with my motherf*ckin idol Jay Z." -
Migos Share "Pretty Little Lady," "John Wick" Ahead Of 'YRN: Tha Album'
Migos have been forced to put their careers on hold as a trio while Offset awaits trial for gun and drug charges stemming from an April incident during a show at Georgia Southern University where guns and drugs were found in the trio's dressing room. Though their debut LP, YRN: Tha Album was delayed from its original June 16 release date, the Atlanta rap trio of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff has still managed to put out new music at a prolific rate. Not to let their fans grow restless, Migos shared two new songs on their soundcloud page this weekend, "John Wick" and "Pretty Little Lady," which have the flow and the beats you expect from a tune from the "One Time" rappers. -
