• Jimi Hendrix biopic gets new release date

    Jimi Hendrix biopic to be released in June and again in August. Outkast may have made its big comeback with its slated 40 date festival tour but Andre 3000 has built a name for himself as an actor and the world will finally be able to see him on the big screen again as iconic guitarist Jimi Hendrix.

    The highly anticipated Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side debuts in the U.S. next week at South by Southwest, and today a clip from the filmed as surfaced online via Rolling Stone. The video shows Hendrix (Andre 3000) with his friend Linda Keith (Imogen Poots) in a New York restaurant chatting with future manager Chas Chandler (Andrew Buckley), who wants to get Hendrix to London. At the time, UK guitarists were playing blues-inspired music, but Hendrix was afraid of getting caught up in labels.

    Music fans are already in a tizzy because of the Outkast reunion. Last week, it was announced that the "Hey Ya" hip-hop duo would be reuniting at Coachella for its 20th anniversary. If that wasn't enough Andre 3000 and Big Boi for ya, get ready, because Outkast are reportedly working on a brand new album.

The list includes fairly stellar choices, but Music Times had a few others in mind we're more interested in. Our suggestions for three replacements:

  • Andre 3000 and Big Boi potentially reuniting as Outkast for Coachella next year

    It appears that Andre Benjamin (Andre 3000) and Antwan Patton (Big Boi) just might reunite as the Grammy-winning duo Outkast in the coming future, according to Billboard. Outkast has unfortunately been on hiatus since 2007, which left people wondering what happened, but they could come together for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

  • Outkast Working on New Music? Sleepy Brown Hints 'Yes'

    It's anniversaries galore during 2013-'14 for Outkast, the most renowned name to come out of the Atlanta hip-hop scene. It will be 20 years since the duo, consisting of Andre 3000 and Big Boi, released its debut Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik in 1994. September 29 marked 15 years since the pair dropped Aquemini (an excellent album Music Times listened to on Monday) , and September 23 was the tenth anniversary of Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Sleepy Brown, while discussing his own upcoming new album, suggested during an interview that 'Dre and Boi may be planning new music to celebrate the anniversary of its debut.
