    It has been a little while since Fifty Shades of Grey has generated good press so the powers-that-be decided to drop a little teaser clip today that's bound to make people forget that there could be anything at all wrong with this film. Jamie Dornan may not have been your first choice to play Mr. Christian Grey but they certainly do know how to set the tone and make him smolder on camera- probably without even trying. This clip includes his muscles, Grey's tie rack and then his extended hand as if he's inviting us to come along for the ride. That's it and it works.

    Jordan Cashmyer was featured in an episode of MTV's "16 & Pregnant" that aired last June that left viewers a bit stunned. At the time she was pregnant with her daughter Genevieve and homeless in Maryland. Since having her baby last March, Cashmyer did finally secure a roof over her head, but other things fell apart. First she confirmed that she had started working in a Baltimore strip club, and now she admits her temporary silence on social media was due to a suicide attempt and subsequent hospitalization.Rather than letting rumors spin out of control, Cashmyer addressed the situation herself, writing on Facebook:"I have been struggling with a lot of different things emotionally since I had Genevieve. I was diagnosed with post partum depression and was on medication for a little while for it, but I never followed up with my appointment... My mood wouldn't stay stable for very long, I was extremely impulsive, couldn't focus, the smallest things would set me off, and my anxiety got worse, as did my depression and OCD."

    Amber Vinson was the second nurse who cared for Thomas Eric Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital to become infected with the Ebola virus. She raised eyebrows for taking a flight from Dallas to Ohio, and then back again a few days later while supposedly having a low-grade fever. Vinson was finally declared Ebola-free and released from the hospital last week, and while she asked for her privacy, I think many expected to hear from her because the CDC momentarily let her be its fall girl.The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had said Vinson should never have flown and that it would have been against its guidelines. But it neglected to mention how nervous the whole situation had actually made her because the nurses who cared for Duncan were never trained until the moment they had to suit up to actively care for him.Vinson told Matt Lauer in an interview this morning on "Today":"The first time that I put on the protective equipment, I was heading in to take care of the patient. We didn't have excessive training where we could don and doff, put on and take off the protective equipment, till we got a level of being comfortable with it. I didn't have that, and I think that's very important for hospitals across the nation, big and small. Once Nina came down with it, my contact at the health department called me and gave me a list of things to look out for, symptoms to look out for and numbers to call if I showed any symptoms. I never had a number to call the CDC directly. I would always call my contact at the health department. And then when I was in Ohio, and I was scheduled to leave, because I was so afraid of what could potentially happen, I did ask them, 'Is there anything that you guys can do to send for me? Do I need to leave earlier?' Because you know, I was worried."Lauer quickly reminded her of how the CDC allowed her to be painted as careless and foolish ,and it was obviously still a sore spot for Vinson, as she explained:"It made me feel terrible, because that's not me. I'm not careless. I'm not reckless. I'm an ICU nurse. I embrace protocol, guidelines and structure. Because in my day-to-day nursing, it is a matter of life and death. And I respect that fact. I would never go outside of guidelines or boundaries or something directly from the CDC telling me that I can't go, I can't fly."

    Just a few short weeks after Jaylen Fryberg opened fire on a table full of his closest friends at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Washington state, we are learning that another school came close to having a similar tragedy. On Saturday, Nov. 1, 16-year-old Sash Alexander Nemphos was confronted by police after being a suspect in several Monkton, Maryland, area theft cases. The teen was clearly intoxicated at the time and unveiled a plan involving a gun that he was accused of stealing.Nemphos claimed he was going to drive to school, shoot the officer who stands guard and then use his gun to kill as many kids and teachers as possible. He then told investigators he had originally intended to carry out his plan on Halloween because he had the gun in his backpack but had forgotten to bring several bombs he had built, so he postponed his plan. He chalked up his forgetfulness to being too drunk on that particular day.

    Carlesha Freeland-Gaither is safe and back at home in Philadelphia after a horrific ordeal that began last Sunday night, Nov. 2, when she was abducted from a Germantown street a few blocks from her apartment. The video of Freeland-Gaither being dragged, kicking and screaming down the block, went viral and probably played a huge role in investigators finding her in relatively OK shape Wednesday night, Nov. 5, in Jessup, Maryland. Delvin Barnes is currently in custody and is actually being held on an unrelated warrant for attempted capital murder.Apparently, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents received information from Virginia that tipped them off to the notion that Barnes could be their man, and they found his vehicle late Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 4, on a road in Jessup. It had its back window kicked out, something that those who witnessed Freeland-Gaither's abduction said she had managed to do.

    The family struggle for control over Amanda Bynes's well-being seems to be coming to a screeching halt this week, as her parents are headed back to court once again. This time it will be different, though. Rather than fighting for conservatorship, they are instead ready to transfer everything over to someone else.According to a report by TMZ, Bynes's parents will be filing documents with the court soon to surrender the conservatorship over to a mental health professional. Bynes's finances will likely then be placed in the hands of an official money manager. After fighting with their daughter for years, it seems her parents are conceding that they cannot effectively help her at this point. They are hoping that if control is placed in the hands of someone else, then Bynes will perhaps stop lashing out so viciously and start to listen.Not only are her parents kind of washing their hands of the dysfunction, but they are also leaving California altogether. After a few years of drama, they are said to be ready to move to Texas to be near their older — and likely saner —daughter instead.

  • Virgin Galactic Pilot Peter Siebold Defied the Odds by Surviving a Disintegrating Rocket at 50,000 Feet

    When Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo broke apart shortly after breaking the sound barrier last week, it was unimaginable that either pilot would somehow escape the wreckage. Peter Siebold and Michael Alsbury were both still strapped into their seats as the rocket disintegrated around them. Siebold somehow managed to eject from the ship and basically had to run on instincts to get himself back on solid ground.The "Los Angeles Times" breaks down exactly what Siebold was up against and how amazing it is that he survived rather than die, as Alsbury did. First we need to understand that these men could have been as high as an estimated 50,000 feet above Earth when things turned bad. That means that when Siebold began his fall his body was tumbling through temperatures of around 70 degrees below zero and the air is so thin he likely was unable to either inhale or exhale. Siebold also was not wearing a space suit to protect him from the lethal conditions.

    The Republican Party was hopeful heading into yesterday's midterm election — with good reason. Americans tend to favor making big, sweeping changes, and by late last night, as the numbers across the country were tallied, the Republican sweep was being referred to as a "wave."The GOP was able to seize control of the U.S. Senate by picking up at least seven seats previously held by Democrats, a wishful goal that had previously eluded them since 2006. The Republican Party also won 13 U.S. House of Representatives races, expanding its already sizable majority to at least 241 seats. That is the most seats the party has held since the days of President Herbert Hoover. The number of Republican governors will also greatly outnumber that of Democrats when Inauguration Day rolls around. People wanted change, and for now they will have it.Here's the thing: Since Americans like change so much, and it is going to take more than two years for our nation to feel different, there is a good chance that for every seat a Republican flipped last night, a Democrat will flip it back in 2016. Basically, the GOP has two years to pull off a miracle or people's rallying for change will actually put the Democrats in great shape for having serious control.

  • 'Love & Hip Hop Hollywood's' Young Berg Arrested for Reportedly Choking Girlfriend Masika Kalysha in Violent NYC Altercation

    "Love & Hip Hop Hollywood" star Young Berg is waking up in a New York City jail cell this morning after an overnight altercation with his girlfriend turned extremely violent. Fans of the show know Berg has been linked to costar Masika Kalysha and, according to a photo posted on her Instagram showing a plane ticket to NYC, it looks like she is likely the victim of Berg's wrath. The violent altercation ultimately resulted in an "obstruction of breathing" charge.According to a TMZ report, Berg got into a fight with his girlfriend at the Gershwin Hotel and grabbed her by the neck. He then threw her on the floor, dragged her by her hair and finally hit her in the face. NYC police arrived on the scene to find Berg's girlfriend with obvious bruises, complaining of pain. She was taken to the hospital and Berg is currently in custody on that obstruction charge.

    Amanda Knox is quite accustomed to seeing her name in print as she first started grabbing headlines back in 2007, for the alleged murder of Meredith Kercher in Italy. She and short-lived boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were convicted and sentenced to 28-years in prison. They were found not guilty upon appeal, only to have her earlier conviction upheld. Knox refuses to return to Italy and instead is choosing to try and piece her life together in Seattle. It looks like things are going better than many would have anticipated because Knox is working as a freelance arts reporter for a weekly newspaper.

  • Adrian Peterson Reportedly Reaches Plea Agreement In Felony Child Abuse Case

    It sounds like Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson may have caught a break in his pending felony child abuse case. The former MVP has reportedly reached a plea deal that will allow him to plead no contest to misdemeanor reckless assault. That deal will mean that if Judge Kelly Case accepts it, Peterson will be placed on probation, have to pay a $2,000 fine and also be expected to complete 80 hours of community service. Ironically this plea will also take any mention of abuse against a minor or family violence off the books completely.

  • Police Searching for Carlesha Freeland-Gaither After Her Philadelphia Abduction Sunday Night Was Captured on Film

    Perhaps the most disturbing thing that many of us will see this week is the video of 22-year-old Carlesha Freeland-Gaither being abducted while walking on West Coulter Street a few blocks from her Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, home. At about 9:40 p.m. Sunday night, Nov. 2, nearby surveillance video caught Freeland-Gaither being snatched from the sidewalk and then dragged down the block kicking and screaming until she was thrown into the backseat of a dark, four-door car. Her abduction was captured on film, and police are searching for her.According to the (New York) "Daily News," a nearby witness heard Freeland-Gaither screaming for help and she was able to kick out the rear driver's and passenger side windows before the car sped off. Authorities believe the suspect was likely driving a dark gray Ford Taurus with Pennsylvania plates. The vehicle was missing inspection stickers and there was an unknown item on the bottom center of the front windshield.

    It is going to take Washington state investigators months to even begin to try and fully understand why Jaylen Fryberg was capable of carrying out school shootings at Marysville-Pilchuck High School Oct. 24 that left three close friends dead and two of his cousins fighting to recover. The cafeteria shooting was carried out with a Beretta handgun that was legally purchased by and registered to one of Fryberg's relatives. We are learning now that investigators will be looking closely into how Fryberg was able to access the gun, and if it was not under proper lock and key, then there is a chance the weapon's owner could be eventually facing negligent homicide charges."Radar Online" recently did some extra digging, and a Seattle-area attorney explained that while a solid law is not on the books, if the weapon was left in a careless place then the owner could still be successfully criminally charged.

  • JDI Dating Fined $616,000 by FTC for Purposely Catfishing Its Users On Up To 18 Different Dating Sites

    The Federal Trade Commission has just smacked the UK-based JDI Dating for basically catfishing its' own users. JDI operates 18 different websites and has been ordered to pay a fine of $616,165- the first of its' kind by the FTC against an online dating site. JDI allowed users on sites such as cupidswand.com and findmelove.com to set up free profiles and would then send them computer generated messages that were supposedly coming from people in their local areas.
